Vicky is the creator of Pasta Grannies, a renowned YouTube channel archiving traditional Italian cooking and the culinary dexterity and artistry of Italian 'nonne' or grandmothers. Before this, she spent many years working in international development in countries as diverse as Russia, South Africa and Turkmenistan. The next decent meal was always on her mind and she began writing about her gastronomic adventures, going on to write critically acclaimed food books. Her book 'Pasta Grannies the Cookbook' published in October 2019, won a James Beard Award for Best Single Subject, sold 250,000 copies, and has been translated into 6 languages. National Geographic made her one of their Travellers of the Year for 2024 for her work on Pasta Grannies.
